Poland's financial regulator fined XTB PLN 20 million in April 2026 for regulatory breaches. XTB asked for the decision to be reconsidered; in September the KNF kept the fine in place.

Spot crypto trading goes live, starting in Cyprus

XTB now lets clients buy real cryptocurrencies, not only crypto CFDs. The service runs under a CySEC MiCA authorisation and started with Cypriot clients; Spain is next on the list. Polish clients cannot use it yet because Poland has no national crypto-assets law in force.

At its half-year results conference XTB's CEO said the company expects to receive a licence to offer CFDs in Indonesia in the near future. Indonesian residents cannot open an XTB account today.

XTB reported about 703,000 new clients in the first half of 2026, almost double a year earlier. Second-quarter revenue was lower than the record first quarter but far above any quarter before 2026.

XTB launched call and put options on the 100 most popular US stocks, first in Cyprus and then in Germany and Spain. Options can be traded in fractional volumes, which lowers the capital needed per trade.
