How we score

Each broker gets five sub-scores out of 5:

Regulation and safety (30%), trading costs (25%), platforms and tools (20%), range of markets (15%) and ease of use (10%). The overall score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal.

Availability is checked against each broker's published country lists. The ranking order is editorial and reflects our commercial agreements, so it does not always follow the scores. Full methodology

Advertiser disclosure

Broksal is free to use because some brokers pay us a commission when you open an account through our links. This can influence which broker we feature and the order in which brokers appear.

Commissions never change the facts we publish about regulation, fees or country availability, and they cost you nothing.

Forex from France: the rules

Retail leverage on major currency pairs is capped at 30:1 for residents of France, and 20:1 on other pairs, with negative balance protection. Locally, financial services are supervised by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).

Accounts held with foreign brokers must be declared on form 3916 with your tax return.

Best time to trade currencies from Paris

Major currency pairs are usually most liquid while London and New York are both open: 15:30–17:30 local time (UTC+2, early October 2026). The forex week runs from Sunday 23:00 to Friday 23:00 local time.

Tax

From 1 January 2026 the flat tax (PFU) on most capital income rose from 30% to 31.4%: 12.8% income tax plus 18.6% social charges, after a 1.4-point CSG increase in the 2026 social security budget. You can opt for the progressive income tax scale instead if it is lower for you. This is general information, not tax advice. More on trading from France.
