Best CFD brokers in Romania
7 of the 7 brokers we review accept residents of Romania. XTB is our top pick. Availability last checked 6 October 2026.
How we score
Each broker gets five sub-scores out of 5:
Regulation and safety (30%), trading costs (25%), platforms and tools (20%), range of markets (15%) and ease of use (10%). The overall score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal.
Availability is checked against each broker's published country lists. The ranking order is editorial and reflects our commercial agreements, so it does not always follow the scores. Full methodology
Advertiser disclosure
Broksal is free to use because some brokers pay us a commission when you open an account through our links. This can influence which broker we feature and the order in which brokers appear.
Commissions never change the facts we publish about regulation, fees or country availability, and they cost you nothing.

CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Each broker publishes its own current loss percentage on its website.
Trading from Romania: what to know
Romania is one of XTB's growing markets, with a local office in Bucharest. Brokers serve Romanian residents from EU entities under ASF oversight.
Tax
With foreign brokers, investment gains are declared in the annual single tax return (declarația unică). Rates have changed several times recently; check ANAF guidance for the current year. This is general information, not tax advice.
Trading CFDs from Romania: the rules
Financial services in Romania are supervised by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF). As an EEA country, Romania follows the ESMA rules for retail CFD clients: leverage is capped at 30:1 on major currency pairs, 20:1 on minor pairs, gold and major indices, 10:1 on other commodities and indices, 5:1 on shares and 2:1 on crypto. Positions are closed out at 50% margin, negative balance protection is mandatory and brokers must show the share of retail accounts that lose money.
Share of retail accounts losing money
As published by the entities that serve Romania: XTB 77% (XTB Limited (Cyprus)); IC Markets 73.46% (IC Markets (EU) Ltd); Interactive Brokers 59.6% (Interactive Brokers); eToro 61% (eToro (as reported early 2026)). Figures are updated quarterly by the brokers.
